Esperienza nel campo della Medicina della Riproduzione
Il Professor Domenico Massimo Ranieri Specialista in Ostetricia e Ginecologia dopo alcuni anni di esercizio professionale presso la Clinica Ostetrica e Ginecologica del Policlinico di Bari, sentendo la necessità di approfondire le problematiche relative all’infertilità, decide dopo un periodo di formazione specifica nel settore, nel 1995 di accettare l’incarico di vicedirettore presso l’Assisted Conception Unit dello University college Hospital di Londra dove rimane fino al mese di Gennaio 2010. Durante questo periodo oltre a svolgere un’intensa attività clinica nel campo della fecondazione assistita, e a contribuire a livello pioneristico alla applicazione clinica delle tecniche di diagnosi reimpianto PGD e di PGS, si occupa anche della parte accademica divenendo Lecturer e poi Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynecology presso lo University College Hospital di Londra divenendo componente del board di insegnamento per il Subspeciality training programme in Medicina della Riproduzione. autore di pubblicazioni in numerose riviste prestigiose del settore quali Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility di cui diviene anche referee. Tale periodo coincide con l’incarico di Senior Lecturer in Ostetricia e Ginecologia presso la stessa
Nel 2010 decide di occuparsi delle problematiche relative all’impianto degli embrioni causa frequente di insuccessi ripetuti nella fecondazione assistita. Assume l’incarico di vicedirettore presso l’ARGC di Londra dove, in collaborazione con il Direttore del Centro, mette a punto un metodo innovativo per agevolare l’impianto embrionario. Questa tecnica innovativa consente all’Unita’ di ottenere risultati tra piu’alti a livello internazionale, con un live birth del 70% nelle pazienti fino a 35 anni provenienti da tutto il mondo, nonostante una prognosi riproduttiva complicata da numerosi precedenti cicli di fertilizzazione in vitro non coronati da successo.
Ha eseguito oltre 20000 cicli di fecondazione assistita con risultati di eccellenza durante la carriera nel Regno Unito, trattando anche numerose pazienti provenienti dall’Italia.
